A major traffic trouble is looming in  Nakuru and the rest of the country even after the halted Nairobi rouge matatu crackdown. It is presumed that commuters will have to dig deep into their pockets or trek to their jobs come next week. this is due to a major announcement that police are planning to conduct a rogue matatu crackdown commencing on Monday 12 November 2018. according to reliable sources from the traffic department in Nakuru and Nakuru matatu owners association, the exercise aims at curbing old and non roadworthy vehicles. Nakuru has been on the spotlight following a list of old and venomous matatus operating in Langa Langa, Shabaab, Free area among others.

The exercise started in Nairobi and more than 200 matatus were held by the traffic police with a number of drivers and conductors arrested.

On Monday in a Tv interview, Traffic Commandant Samuel Kimaru said the clampdown “is only a rehearsal”.“Those who have not complied with the requirements had better do so or keep their vehicles at home,”

The wake comes after interior CS Fred Matiangi revived the Michuki rules that required matatus to have safety belts, yellow lines, uniformed matatu operators among others. truth be told. the crackdown will only affect the common Mwanchi and give police department millions from bribes
