SIAYA SENATOR JAMES ORENGO QUESTIONED WHY WAIGURU IS STILL IN HER DOCKET DESPITE THE ALLEGATIONS WHAT AFRED KETER IS DOING IS NOT WRONG TO BRING THE MOTION, BECAUSE IN THE SAME ARTICLE 152, THE PRESIDENT IS GIVEN THE MANDATE TO DISMISS A CABINET SECRETARY IN THE  FOLLOWING...

Weekly review

t's a week that saw the gaging  of media rights and freedom while covering national assembly meetings as provided in chapter four of the kenyan constitution and the bill of rights in article 33 and qoute..            The offensive Section 34 of the Powers and Privileges Committee provides that a person who publishes any false or scandalous libel on Parliament, its committees or its proceedings or speaks words defamatory of the House is liable to a fine or jail term. ?It also states that a person convicted of an offence under the Act for which no penalty is provided shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding Sh500,000 or a term of imprisonment not exceeding two years, or both.         34...........after the national parliament passed a controversial bill regulating media from exposing MPs in their extravagant and embezzlement of public funds. A bill tabled by   Eldas ...

digital migration

People should not be gullibly convinced that digital migration is jeopardizing any media personality or company in Kenya. The simple politics in it may make people believe that digital migration is a mountain we cannot climb. It all starts with a simple step; switching off the analogue and switching on the digital. Perhaps if Kenyans know this simplicity in this controversial matter, they might be in a position to really understand that there is no witch hunt on anyone and those in power are only making a mountain out of an anthill.   It is very true that local content belongs to local audiences for free and that foreign televisions should not broadcast local content for money without he consent of local broadcasters but there is a hidden agenda that most Kenyans are shielded from knowing; Media owners benefit from adverts and their aim is not to inform rather than sell the information to interested ‘buyers’. Yes the adverts that always comes before news or interrupts news n...

Shapping kenya

There is one joy that always hit my heart any time that l think of my beatiful country, that one day the real democracy dhall rule the hearts of Kenyans. They shall be given the freedom to choose and not the candidate to vote for. Whatever happened in Siyaya county will repeat itself in Kajiado by election and Kabete. After a the deathbof prominent leaders or any thing that leaves the seats vacant, our leaders choose who to replace them. In Makueni, gatundu and all other elections people were given choosen few to confirm them. I don't see the need of the next general election because history will repeat itself.

the plight of teachers

It was the best idea for teacher to resume back to classes after heated and tedious struggles for wining a bigger pay. Perhaps it was the right thing to do- go back to classes even without being played and consider the life of innocent angels who hopelessly rely on teachers for their ever growing desires to be the leaders of tomorrow. Majority congratulated them for this idea. Parents could not sit eat and party while their money was being lost in the air with no hope of regaining it. They experienced nightmares, cursed the unions and their leaders, solicited for refuge in churches and governments and kept their hopes to anyone who comes for their rescue. All was over when industrial court called of the strike and the unions agreed to it arbitration. Contrary to many I watched this in disbelief. Fight and thirst for good pay, good considerations as partakers of economy, good living standards and good health for teachers was all quenched by another promise- the government is keen...
